The origin of the Australian ugg boot has a variety of stories as to how and when the ugg sheep skin boots were actually invented. One of the versions has the sheep skin footwear as the boot worn by pilots during World War One. These boots were referred to as “Fug Boots” denoting their use as ugg boots used for flying. In the 1930’s, Blue Mountain Ugg Boots were commonly worn by sheep shearers for their added warmth over regular footwear. “Apache Ugh Boots” were fashioned by Mortel’s Sheepskin Factory in the 1950‘s. By the 1960’s surfers were wearing their own version of the boot, finding them an easy and comfortable way to warm up after surfing the cold Australian waters.
The original ugg sheep skin boots were made with two pieces of sheepskin attached in the front and a soft sole. Most Australian’s believe the name “Ugg” derives from the word “ugly”, therefore coining the term “Ugg Boot”, as uniquely Australian as “Joey’s “ and “mate’s”. Given the ugg boot’s various stories of origination, it would be impossible to pinpoint who made the first sheep skin boots and when. Truth be told, they were probably reinvented many times satisfying a variety of uses based on the specific need of the person.
In the 1970’s, in Western Australia, some people saw that with some basic changes, the ugg boot had real potential and began their own company called Uggs-N-Rugs (tm). They implemented some basic style changes such as replacing the center seam with a patterned braid down the back and a more substantial sole designed for added comfort. Eventually a fully molded heal counter was added to these boots. This design created three layers to the boot; the sheep skin, the molded heal, and the suede that is used as the outer layer. This type of manufacturing helps the boot to retain its original shape and allows for maximum support. Although the ugg sheep skin boots boot were to be the core-selling product of Uggs-N-Rugstm, many companies throughout the world have copied and produced their own version of the sheepskin boot.
Since the success of Uggs-N-Rugs as one of the longest running producers of sheep skin boots in Australia, many other manufacturers and retail businesses from all over the world have attempted to copy their success. Although there are many stories found on the Internet, one Australian named Brian Smith lays claim to being one of the first to introduce the ugg boot to the American market.

Reducing the Appearance of Wrinkles
Wrinkles. One of the most dreaded words in the dictionary. At the first sign of a wrinkle, our reaction is pretty much universal. Horror! After we calm down, we begin to wonder just what we can do to eliminate this much dreaded effect of aging and how do we keep other newer and deeper wrinkles from following. If we already find ourselves with wrinkle mania in full bloom, we look for solutions to turn back the hands of time and restore our skin to its once youthful state. Fortunately, there are options available to us to reduce the appearance of wrinkles.
Let's take a moment to discover what causes these wrinkles. First and foremost, aging. As we grow older our skin naturally looses collagen and eslastin that help to keep our skin firm and taunt. Also, our skin cell reproduction slows down and the rejuvenating effect that new skin cells have on our skin’s appearance diminishes. These types of wrinkles are known as intrinsic, they cannot be avoided. It is Mother Nature at her best (or worst!). Other factors, like the environment and sun damage, can also cause skin to wrinkle. Smoking also causes the skin to produce less collagen, inevitably leading to an increase in wrinkles. These types of wrinkles are called extrinsic. They are life style choices that are, for the most part, under our control. These extrinsic influences are the leading cause of pre-mature aging patterns in our skin. Now that we know why we have wrinkles let’s talk about how to reduce them.
One of the more popular ways to reduce the appearance of wrinkles is plastic surgery. Not only are face-lifts an option but also there are now less invasive procedures, like chemical peels, laser treatments, and collagen injections. The number one procedure for reducing wrinkles used today by women of every walk of life is Botox® injections. Botox® works by relaxing the injected muscle and allowing those awful furrow lines and other deep wrinkles to all but disappear. This is temporary, though, and has to be repeated every few months.
Coblation is also an option for reducing wrinkles. Less invasive than surgery, radio waves are used to remove the top layer of the skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage. Although this procedure does leave you with newer, younger looking skin, it is not as effective as laser treatments. It is safer, though, and the healing process is considerably shorter since the radio waves do not go as deeply into the lower layers of skin.
Although all of the above mentioned remedies are good options, they are also expensive. There are a large variety of wrinkle reducing creams on the market today that contain ingredients like Retinal. These will help to firm your skin and lessen the look of fine lines, but not necessarily the deeper set wrinkles.

Benefits of Ugg Sheep Skin Boot
You’ve likely heard about or seen the impact that the ugg sheep skin boot has made in the world of fashion recently. It’s one thing for the boot to be trendy, but what about beneficial? When people think of boots, they do not always think of them in terms of the benefits that the boots offer. Most people need boots for the snow, so any boot that is waterproof generally will be suitable. But boots do have benefits, including the ugg sheep skin boot , and the benefits of this boot go far beyond their good looks.
These boots are so comfortable they can be worn all the time in all types of weather. If made from genuine sheep skin, they likely will last a long time making their purchase a good investment. Best of all, with so many styles currently available, there is sure to be an ugg sheep skin boot to fit everyone’s tastes and budget.
The ugg sheep skin boot is a practical boot. The sheep skin helps keep feet warm during the cold winter months, and cool during the warm summer months. The comfortable and soft sheep skin fits like a glove and acts like a second skin, helping to maintain the body’s temperature. In fact, these boots can keep feet warm even in temperatures as low as -30ºF. Plus, the wool has natural wicking properties which help draw moisture away from the skin, and this is what helps to keep the skin dry. Finally, a person’s feet should not smell after wearing these boots. The wool fleece helps the air inside the boot to circulate which allows the foot to breathe. Of course, there is no guarantee on this claim!
The ugg sheep skin boot, if properly cared for, will last for many years, making it a good investment. The soft skin is actually leather and as such, the boot is not waterproof. A water-repellant product can be applied to the boot, but even this will not make the boot waterproof. The boot can be cleaned but not by immersing it into water. The boots must be cleaned by hand, using a cleaning product that is designed for use on sheep skin and dried naturally.
One feature of the ugg sheep skin boot that makes it such a popular choice in footwear can also cause the boot to become damaged. That feature is its soft sheep skin. These delicate-skinned boots should never be worn anywhere you’re likely to encounter things that can damage or puncture the boot’s soft skin, like on a hiking trip. So to ensure the boots live a long life, be sure to properly treat and care for them.
The ugg sheep skin boot is available in many different styles and sizes making this boot the perfect choice for all tastes. These boots are available in sizes for the entire family, including infants, children, men and women. Some ugg sheep skin boot styles include tall boots, and short boots, slipper-style, and boots with extra reinforcements, and much, much more. And then there are the colors – black, tan, pink, blue, purple, red, sand and more arriving in stores every day. The best quality boots are made from genuine sheep skin but imitation boots are everywhere.
Just remember, the better the quality, the higher the price. But when it comes to the Ugg sheep skin boot , keep in mind that you’re getting far more than just good looks; you’re making a sound investment.

How to Take Care of Sheep Skin Boots
Sheep skin boots and all things made from natural sheep skin are very trendy and very popular among all classes of people. Because sheep skin is a natural material, items that are made with it tend to be very expensive. After spending so much of your hard-earned money on genuine sheep skin boots, you may be scared to wear them fearing that they may become soiled and you won’t be able to get them clean. While it is true that the best way to care for your this type of boot is to not get them dirty in the first place, that likely is not possible. Besides, if you simply wanted to admire the good and expensive look of the boots, then the boots should have remained in the store window display case. They are boots after all, and you should expect that they will get dirty either from urban dirt or country soil.
Keep in mind that sheep skin boots are made from an animal’s skin, and animals do get exposed to the elements. They get wet and dirty and they recover from this exposure to the elements, so it is safe to assume that your new boots can be safely cleaned as well. Boots made from a sheep’s skin are in some ways delicate, and they can be easily damaged by chemicals or by scratches and other types of abrasions. To maintain that expensive, soft look of the sheep skin, never use inappropriate chemicals when cleaning. And always use soft rags that will not scratch or otherwise damage the surface of the boots.
The first thing you should do after purchasing a pair of sheep skin boots is to apply a spray sealant type product to the boot. Be sure to follow the product’s directions for use. Taking this step is more of a preventative measure. It will offer a certain degree of protection by blocking soil and water from penetrating into the sheep skin.
When you do need to clean your sheep skin boots start by using a soft brush or a soft, dry cloth. Apply light pressure and simply try to buff out the stain. If that approach does not work, you can purchase a cleaning product that is recommended for wool. The cleaning product use instructions may or may not require the product to be mixed with lukewarm water. Always read the label first and proceed as instructed. Shoe stores are a good place to locate an appropriate cleaning product to use on sheep skin boots. Searching the Internet is another good way to locate an appropriate cleaning product . If using the Internet, just be sure to take whatever steps are necessary to protect your credit card information.
Once you have successfully finished cleaning your sheep skin boots, they will need to dry. You should never use or expose your boots to extreme heat sources when drying. In the path of direct sunlight, in front of a crackling fire or heater or inside a dryer are the places where these boots should never be allowed to roam. Exposing your boots to these extreme sources of heat likely will cause significant as well as permanent damage to the delicate sheep skin. Instead, find a nice shady spot to place your boots so that they can air dry naturally.
Never attempt to dry clean your sheep skin boots. The chemicals that are used in the dry cleaning process are harsh and abrasive and will definitely cause damage to the boots. So go ahead and get your boots dirty. They can be safely cleaned.

How to Reduce the Appearance of Age Spots
Age spots are mainly caused by long-term sun exposure. Although sun is the number one reason for developing age spots, smoking, a poor diet, poor liver function, and a diet rich in oxidized oils are also contributing factors.
These age spots are a result of the overproduction of lipofuscin, a dark substance produced by our cells. Age spots usually begin appearing when we are in our 30’s and, besides being unsightly, increase our risk of skin cancer. As is the case with most skin conditions, age spots are easier to prevent than to treat. Eating a diet rich in green leafy vegetables, carrots, yams, and other foods that are high in carotene will help reduce your chances of getting age spots in the first place. If you are already are suffering from age spots, don‘t loose hope. There are options available to you to reduce the appearance of age spots, as well as improve the overall health of your skin.
There are several products on the market today that will help in diminishing the look of age spots. Fade creams are a popular choice among consumers. These over-the-counter creams contain moisturizers with a two percent hydroquinone content which is a bleaching agent that will aid in the fading process. Best results are obtained with the cream is used in conjunction with glycolic acid moisturizer. Prescription creams that contain vitamin A, such as Retin-A or Retinova, work more effectively than the over-the-counter fade creams.
There are more invasive options available to you for those suffering from a more serious case of age spots. Chemical peels are one of these options. Using 30%-70% glycolic acid, the fading factor is much more pronounced than in either of the creams mentioned above. The treatment is simple and can be done in a short session, even on your lunch break if need be. You will need more than one treatment to reach the full effects of the procedure.
Laser resurfacing is another option similar to the chemical peel. In this procedure, the age spots are literally burned off the skin’s surface with a laser and can be accomplished in one treatment. It does, however, have a recovery time of about one week and can be quite expensive.
For a more natural and cost-effective way to help prevent age spots simply limit your exposure to the sun and, when you are in the sun, wear sunscreen. Limit your alcohol intake and eat a well balance diet.

How to Improve Your Skin’s Elasticity
If you are a woman in your late 30's or higher, you have probably noticed your skin’s elasticity is not what it used to be. For most of us this is inevitable. Other body parts begin to sag as we age so why should our skin be any different? Fortunately, there are options available that will help to reverse the effects of age on the skin and also improve elasticity in loose skin that's caused by weight loss. To better understand what exactly causes our skin to sag in the first place, let’s go over a bit of the physical side of the process.
Your skin has two distinct layers called the epidermis and the dermis. The epidermis is on the surface and contains the pigment, epidermal cells, and proteins. The dermis is the layer located underneath the epidermis and contains the dermal cells, blood vessels and nerves, hair follicles, and oil glands plus it is responsible for providing the nutrients for the epidermal layer. It also contains the connective tissue as well as our skin’s collagen.
Although it is located beneath the epidermal layer, it is changes in the dermal layer that cause the outer skin to wrinkle and loose elasticity as we age. As we grow older, the amount of fat found in our lower layer of skin decreases, our glands produce less oil, and collagen and elastin fibers loose their elasticity. The natural process of cell reproduction in the dermal layer also decreases as we grow older, resulting in a slower rejuvenation of our skin cells. So, now that we know just why this happens let’s talk about the part that is more important to those of us suffering from this affliction, the solution.
Although there is no actual magic pill designed to stop this natural aging process, there are options available to slow down and, in some cases, reverse the signs of aging skin. Of course, surgery is always an option and a face lift can take years off your appearance. However, it is a major procedure and recovery is long and can be quite painful. If this is an option you would consider, make sure to do your research and only go to a board certified plastic surgeon with a well established reputation.
For those looking for a less invasive route, there are a variety of products on the market today that offer an easier and less painful solution, though with less dramatic results. Many of these products contain ingredients like copper, Ginseng, elastin, collagen, and HGH (human growth hormone). These are all ingredients that have been proven to have some level of rejuvenating effects on the skin and its elasticity. Most products are geared toward sensitive skin and are generally to be allergy-free.

How Do I Wear Womens Suede Boots?
Throughout time, women have had a love affair with footwear. Forget diamonds or furs – footwear has been and continues to be the accessory of choice for many women from all social circles. Just look inside any woman’s closet and you are sure to find more than one pair of shoes inside. In fact, rarely will you find only one pair. You are more likely to find shoes for work, shoes for play, shoes for exercising and more types of footwear including several pair of boots and at least one pair of slippers. And almost every woman, at some time during her life, has owned at least one pair of womens suede boots .
Now, womens suede boots are making a comeback. Throughout the years, this type of footwear has come into and gone out of style which in fashion terms makes this style a classic. Look around and you will see that boots made from suede are everywhere; at playhouses, at chic nightclubs, in shopping malls, at the beach and all places in between. There are so many trendy styles available and so many ways to wear womens suede boots that there is just not enough room here to list them all.
How you wear a pair of womens suede boots really is just a matter of the look that you are trying to achieve. If you are simply looking for comfort, a pair of neutral colored, ankle length boots will do the trick. The natural color of the boot will match any outfit. Don a few suede accessories such as a purse and/or a lightweight suede jacket and you will achieve a look that is comfortable and very stylish. If you are heading out for a night on the town, you will want a style that looks good. Oftentimes women have to trade off comfort for appearance. Not so when you pair your outfit with suede boots. A tall length boot in black will give you a look that is sleek and sophisticated (and best of all, comfortable!) If instead you will be spending the night watching the latest hit movie that has been released on DVD, then a pair of suede boot style slippers will be the right choice. Any look you are trying to achieve, whether it is the western look, the punk look, the trendy look or the outrageous look, can be accomplished simply by finishing off your outfit with the right pair of womens suede boots.
The nice thing about womens suede boots is that they are made from animal skin, a natural material. If an animal’s skin can protect the animal from the elements, just think how these boots can help protect your feet. A double faced suede material will have the best mix of features. The inside of the boot will be soft and pliable and after just a short amount of time wearing the boots, the insoles will conform to the shape of the arch. The natural wicking properties of the animal skin will keep moisture and perspiration away from the feet helping them stay dry, comfortable and odor free. To reap the most benefits, these boots should be worn on bare feet.
Then consider the outside of the boot. Because it is easy to dye suede, these boots are available in a rainbow of color options. Plus, there are literally hundreds of styles to choose from. With so many color and style options available, it is easy to wear womens suede boots making this the number one reason why these boots have yet to go out of style.

How Do I Wear Pink Sheep Skin Boots?
Perhaps you have seen them and thought, “Why in the world is that person wearing pink sheep skin boots?” But then again, while out running errands, you saw those smooth pink boots again. Then one day, while flipping through your favorite fashion magazine, there they were again, this time being worn by a beautiful model. Finally this scenario makes sense. What you have been seeing is the latest and hottest fashion trend. And then you realize that those to-die-for, luxurious and soft looking boots really are not as bad as they seemed at first. Instead, you think that in fact they are really quite pretty and fashionable.
The first thing there is to know about wearing pink sheep skin boots is how you feel about wearing this color. Some people really like to wear pink, and others do not. If you are ok with pink, then read on. There are two basic shades of this pink boot. The most common shade of pink is a soft, pastel color similar to the shade that relates to the arrival of a new baby girl. The other shade had more of a red tint in it making it resemble more of a rose-colored pink. The variation in color happens in the pre-manufacturing phase, when the animal skins are being processed. Changing the color of the boot is simply a matter of dying the sheep skin until the desired shade is achieved. You will even find that these boots, especially the better quality brands, will be stitched together using the same color pink thread.
The best way to wear pink sheep skin boots is over bare feet. In fact, this is the best way to wear any color of sheep skin boot. Slipping these boots onto a pair of bare feet is the only way to truly experience the wonderful qualities of the removable sheep skin inner soles . Even though these boots are pink, they will still have the same features that purchasers have come to expect from this style of boot. The most notable feature is the ability of the sheep skin to keep feet warm in the most extreme of temperatures, all the way down to -30ºF, but to also be able to keep feet cool and dry in warmer temperature zones. These boots are lightweight and comfortable.
This style of boot is the perfect thing to wear on your feet whether you are going out for a night on the town or whether you are simply relaxing with a loved one. Pink sheep skin boots will look appropriate whether you choose to pair them up with blue denim jeans or khaki-colored pants or whether you wear them with the most outrageously short mini skirt you can pull out of your closet. Celebrities wear these boots everywhere, not just while vacationing at fancy ski resorts. These boots are so easy prevalent in stores and on the Internet that you can have your very own pair in no time at all.
Pink sheep skin boots are available in many different styles, too. They are available in a tall length, short length, three-quarter length, and more. Wearing these boots is as comfortable as wearing a pair of slippers, so why not have them on even if you are not leaving the house. Or, if you do not like that idea, go ahead and purchase a pair of sheep skin slippers in whatever color hits your fancy. There simply are no rules when it comes to wearing these cozy, comfortable, and fashionable sheep skin boots. If it feels good, then wear it!

Are You Looking For Some Discount Ugg Boots?
If you find yourself caught up in the recent boot craze, but think that these trendy boots are way out of touch with your wallet, there is something that you should know. Ugg boots, those oh-so-soft multi-hued boots made from pure Australian sheep skin are available at a discount, if you know where to look. The best place to begin checking for discount ugg boots is on the Internet. The Internet is a wonderful invention. With a good search engine and a few clicks of a button, you can locate just about anything on the Internet, even long-lost distant relatives you had hoped you would never see again. Just begin your search for discount ugg boots by typing an appropriate phrase into the search area. Faster than you can blink an eye, your computer screen will fill with pages upon pages of links you can click to start your search for your very own pair of these trendy boots. If you are looking for discount ugg boots have a look at the great deals here.
The most obvious place to begin your search for discount ugg boots, even without using a search engine, is to visit your favorite web auction site. There you can search for boots, or more specifically, ugg boots, or even more specifically, three-quarter length, tan ugg boots in size seven. Press a button, find a pair that matches your criteria and start naming your price. Before you know it, you will have at your doorstep your very own pair of size seven, tan, three-quarter length ugg boots. See that was not so hard!
Also available on the Internet are different types of shopping mall clubs which you can join by paying the stated membership fee. These types of clubs offer members the ability to purchase various items including clothing, home accessories and other consumables that are available through the particular virtual shopping mall program at a discount. The product lines that these types of virtual shopping malls carry typically include the types of items that one would expect to find in a normal shopping mall environment. So, search around for a shopping mall program which offers discount ugg boots, join the program, and shop around until you find the perfect pair. Who knows, you may just get hooked on the virtual shopping mall experience. Most credit cards are accepted!
The reality is that because this style of boot is just so popular and the product seems to literally fly off the shelf, discount ugg boots may be difficult to locate, even on the Internet. From a retailer’s point of view, it does not make good financial sense to discount the price of a product that is easily and continuously selling at full retail price. With the fall season in full swing and the holiday season right around the corner, this style of boot likely will continue its brisk selling pace making discounts difficult to locate.
Eventually, however, stores will begin to discount their prices in an effort to draw consumers into their stores and encourage them to make purchases. If you are patient and are willing to take time to research the Internet and other retail outlets, you will eventually be able to find a pair of discount ugg boots that fit your needs, and your feet and won’t cause too much damage to your wallet.
Just be aware that the market is quickly flooding with lower quality imitations of this boot style. You may find that some discount ugg boots are not made from pure Australian sheep skin. These boots will likely look pretty close to the real thing, but your feet will know the difference.

Mommie Moments – Taking Time For Yourself
Being a parent is a role that requires a large majority of our attention and time. Whether you have one child or fourteen children, you are more than likely aware that personal time is at a minimal. As a mother your attention is always on demand. There are meals to be made, clothes to be washed, and rooms to be cleaned. Not to mention other responsibilities like entertaining hungry little minds.
So where does your time fit into this equation? Regardless of time restraints, it is imperative for a mother’s well-being to have a little down time. Even a half hour to an hour a day can be a refreshing overhaul for a mother’s daily routine. A moment to gather your thoughts without distractions can refresh your spirit and attitude, making you that much more prepared to meet the demands of your children, your family, and your life.
Nurturing our children begins with us nurturing ourselves. When we view our personal time in this way, we are able to see what a priority we really should be. Take time to dedicate to personal reflection like journaling, music, or art or whatever activity that makes you really feel apart of yourself. If you only get small increments of time daily then make a weekly list of what you would like to accomplish. Manage your time, don’t allow time to manage you.
Everyone needs personal time to listen to their own voice and reflect on their lives. But for mothers that time isn’t always readily available. And often your personal time is overlooked by those around you. The only person that can make your time a priority is you. So make sure you set boundaries wherever necessary. While your children are napping, utilize that time for yourself. Let the dishes wait and grab a book or do some exercise instead. Remember that the time you invest in yourself is time well spent.

For a Glowing Skin...
Do you know how and where to moisturize? Here are some helpful hints…
MOISTURISING our skin is essential to maintain that 'young, beautiful' look. On another note, is it necessary to moisturize all areas of your skin? The answer is NO. Many models actually go to private 'beauty' classes to learn how, when and where to moisturize their skin. So, learn your skin type, don't be 'afraid to try many products before settling on one.
- Do not over moisturize as it can lead to clogged pores. Your forehead and cheeks tend to be the drier areas. There is no need to moisturize your chin if it is not needed.
- Most women misdiagnose their skin type. This can cause improper moisturizing. You also need to change your techniques of moisturizing with the changes of seasons.
- When using a moisturizer, always apply it to the skin in a circulatory motion. Pat your skin with the tips of your fingers gently as if playing a tune on a piano. This is also a great stimulant for your skin.
- Tired of buying moisturizers too often? Here is how to make them last longer. Use a small amount of natural vegetable oil as a base first. This will help make your moisturizer last much longer.
- Use a moisturizer as a base before applying your foundation. For best results, wait until the moisturizer is dry and then apply foundation. However, if your foundation is somewhat dry; then apply it right away; your moisturizer will help it to loosen up a bit. - To get the best results from any of your facial products, rub it between your hands, this helps to heat it up, and hence, becomes easier to apply.

10 Common Wedding Reception Mistakes
Every bride wants a fairytale wedding. Therefore, this article is to try and minimize problems that may occur during a wedding reception. Listed below are the more common mistakes made by brides and grooms during your wedding reception. We will tell you what to do!
Don’t leave early. Your guests came from near and far to see you on your wedding day. Not staying the whole time of the reception would be a slap in the face. This will be the only time most of your family and friends will be able to see you as you will be very busy with last minute preparations the days leading up to the wedding.
Setup all the tables. Your wedding vendors will need to know where to set-up. Be sure there is a table for the wedding cake, music entertainment, catered food, sign-in near the entrance, gift table, tables and chairs for all your guests to eat and any other tables you may have planned for specialty items.
Preplan with your vendors a day or two before the wedding. Be sure all your wedding vendors know exactly what you want. Clarify times and location so you don’t need to worry about them.
Don’t arrive late to the reception. It is customary that guests do not start eating until the bride and groom start the food line. Be sure to get as many of your pictures taken BEFORE the wedding. There are many ways to accomplish this. One is to have the entire bride’s family pictures taken. Then, have the bride return to the dressing room. Next, take pictures of the groom and his family as guests can see the groom before the wedding. This way you will not compromise the groom seeing the bride before the wedding. Therefore, all that is left after the ceremony are pictures of the happy couple.

Don’t seat the young at heart directly in front of the music entertainment. Older generations are at a wedding typically to socialize with their family and friends. If they cannot hear each other talk, an unhappy situation may occur. So, if by choice, seat the young at heart near the wedding party but away from the entertainer’s speakers.
Don’t have one particular type of music. There are many different types of people in the world. And yes, they include your family and friends. For example, the bride and groom may love country music. It doesn’t mean you have to play country music the whole night. There is a lot of celebration music besides what you like.
Start the food line or meal as soon as possible. Guests plan their meal times the day of your wedding around your reception. Guest will not eat a big meal before your wedding because they know they will be eating at your reception. Don’t starve them.
Know what it will cost you if the reception goes into overtime. Ask the reception facility exactly how long you have the hall to rent and what time you must be out. Please allow time for cleanup if you are the ones doing it. What is the overtime charge for the facility, music entertainment, photography, etc?
Greet and say hello to all your guests. Finally and most importantly, greet all your guests. Make an effort to have a conversation with each and every person. They are there to celebrate your marriage. Give them the common courtesy of thanking them for coming to your wedding.
Don’t get drunk and obnoxious. Keep in mind the only time brides and grooms eat during the wedding day rituals are at the wedding reception. There’s not much food in your stomach and alcohol will affect you much faster. Try and eat throughout the day and watch how much you drink. You want your guests to remember how beautiful the bride looked, not how you acted.

Honeymoon Destinations
Your big day is now over all the stress of preparing for that one day is a fond memory, now its time to enjoy the best part of the whole celebration, which is of course the honeymoon. Whether it be a skiing trip in Angola or a Caribbean cruise this is going to be the best holiday of your life so make room in your budget and splash out.
The Relaxing honeymoon
If you are drawn towards lounging on a silver beach all day with hotel waiters offering infinite margaritas and the most stunning scenery you will ever see the Maldives is the place for you. The Maldives is the most magnificent place of natural beauty on earth; it has the essential elements of sun, sand and sea. The area is made up of thousands of deserted islands, vast lagoons with infinite shades of blue and turquoise, and beautiful underwater coral gardens, a natural paradise for a tropical honeymoon.
The religion is mainly Islamic and the people are a mixture of Sri Lankan, South East Asian and Aryan origin, Dhivehi being the native language. The Maldives has always been a busy maritime route for the African, Arab and South East Asian mariners, and the sea now plays a major roll in tourism by providing exciting water activities.
Snorkeling, diving, underwater photography, are major activities here with one of the highest underwater visibility distance of 50 meters. New to the list is surfing but it’s a growing one with the O Neill Deep Blue contest being held here this year.
If you prefer doing nothing at all the luxurious resorts will cater to your every need, with the majority containing relaxing spas and stunning scenery there is no need to move from your resort, although a spot of late night fishing relaxing under the night sky sounds like a treat you might want to enjoy.
Go and Have some fun
If you cant stand the idea of long lazy days and nights why not take a trip to the premier entertainment destination of the world, Las Vegas. Within reasonable distance from most states in the US Vegas the city that never sleeps has everything a couple who are young at heart and looking for fun can enjoy.
Famously known as the play ground of the rich and famous Vegas has something for everyone with its concerts, nightclubs, comedy headliners, art and its famous productions shows, no one will be bored. For the gamblers at heart there are plenty of casinos to hang out in and maybe even strike it rich, who knows! The hotels in Vegas are very impressive with some of the most original and luxurious around The Venetian and Mirage are just two to mention. There is also the option to visit the grand canon which isn’t too far, you can take a helicopter ride straight from Vegas to the Grand Canyon and see one of the most beautiful natural terrain there is, or why not hire a car and take the 5 hour drive, you stay over night in a log cabin.
There is plenty to do when you get there, if you want to get down and dirty you can take a trip down into the floor of the canyon which will take about 5 to 6 hours on horse back or mule, there you can spend the night sleeping around a campfire covered by a blanket of stars. If that’s not adventurous enough why not go water rafting down the Colorado River that should put some wind in your sails.
Slippery Slopes
Why not whisk off to a winter wonderland on the white snow capped mountains of Canada. From the mighty Rockies to the alluring Laurentain’s Canada’s mountains are perfect for winter sports. With its natural topography and perfect snow accumulation the Canadians have created some of the best ski resorts world wide since the 1960s.The diversity of the resorts is one of its best attractions, from the champion slopes of whistler to the laid back hangouts of Red Mountain there is a little something for everyone.
Tremblant is a popular resort described as a cross between a cute Quebecois village and a theme park there is lots of fun to be had here and you don’t have to be a professional skier to enjoy yourself. The groups are of mixed ability and you can have fun learning to ski, but prepare to get wet.
Tremblant is a beautiful quaint village with brightly colored buildings knitted together along the main street of boutiques and restaurants. There are plenty of cozy wood cabin bistros and cafes to relax and enjoy after the ski day. In the evening the village comes to life with open-air theaters of fire-eaters, clowns on stilts, and live music. There are also other activities such as skating on lac Miroir and the fun water slides of La Source. You will be very busy during the day and all cozy and loved up at night.
Trip around Europe
For those culture seekers among you this would be a perfect honeymoon, this is the perfect chance to see all the historical sites you’ve dreamed of. To see the beautiful and romantic city of Paris for the first time together, late night strolls along the champs Elises and whispering sweet nothings under the Eiffel tower. Stop off in Venice and take an evening gondola ride down the famous canals before dining in the fabulous Venetian restaurants.
Visit London the home of William Shakespeare and The Great Queen Elizabeth I you can do a historical tour around the streets of London and be brought back in time to the streets of the gruesome Jack the Ripper and the famous burning of London bridge. Then see the beautiful Westminster abbey and stop of at Buckingham Palace to visit the queen’s home maybe have some tea and scones if you’re lucky.
Not forgetting the diverse provinces of Ireland, the stunning west of Ireland with its ancient cultures and Gaelic speaking natives of Connemara take a currach ride over to the nearly deserted Aryan Island and see how the ancient Celts once lived. You can also visit the city of Dublin, which is drenched in culture and history the place to go to have the “craic” as always the Irish know how to have a good time.
The best thing about this type of Honeymoon is you can cater it to fulfill your desires the continent is your oyster.

Wedding Day Savings
A little strategizing can go a long way when trying to cut down on spending for the big day. Invitations, flowers, and music can cost a small fortune but by making some adjustments to these elements you can have an elegant wedding without breaking the bank.
The Invitation is the first taste your guests will get of the type of wedding to expect. Formal weddings will have the formal invitation and a more laid back wedding will have an informal invitation to reflect the setting and mood of the day. When ordering the stationary you should keep in mind how many invitations you need, order half of the number of guests with an extra 10-15 to provide for the single guests and any mistakes you make and maybe a few extra envelopes just incase. It is more costly to reorder another batch rather then order an extra 10 or so, remember the minister and the wedding party receives an invitation also.
Order all of your wedding stationary together, decide if you are going to order your placement cards and thank you cards also, this will probably get you a discount and it will save on the proofing. If you have any special features on the Invitations such as shells, feathers or ribbon buy it and do it yourself ask your family or friends to help, this could save you a couple of hundred dollars on labor. Keep in mind that using different color print can cost extra contrasting colors can look good but bump up the price, you can achieve the same effect by using different shades of color of the card its being printed on, maybe a gold print on a pale gold or yellow card can be just as stunning or take a few lessons in calligraphy and hand write the invitations adding a special touch.
The Facts about Flowers
Flowers that are in season cost less than flowers that are not, Orchids cost more than roses these are general facts, but did you know that flowers cost 20 – 30% more around the holidays including Mothers day, Valentines day, Easter and Christmas keep this in mind when considering a holiday wedding date.
Also low centerpieces cost less than high centerpieces so consider using a mixture of both, make sure to add luscious foliage to the center pieces this has a stunning effect and will cut the cost of extra flowers. Take advantage of the candles and other accessories offered by the reception venue, as it is a lot cheaper than hiring candles and extras from an outside company.
Do not over do it on flowers for the church. The church is usually presented beautifully enough on its own and you will be there for less than an hour so spend your money on the reception area and center pieces, as guests will be there for up to 5 hours.
Make your own table overlays instead of renting them. Ask a sewing relative to help. You can create some beautiful effects using organza or silk. The bridesmaid bouquets can consists of several large blooms that are in season such as peonies in spring and hydrangeas in summer and add some pretty foliage, this will cut the cost of lots of expensive flowers.
This is okay for the bridesmaids but do not skimp on the bridal bouquet, this bouquet will be captured in all the wedding photos so each time the bride glances at that framed photo of her special day she should see the flowers she always wanted in her hands.
Merry Music
This will be a reflection of your own personal choice; the cost will involve the number of musicians and the number of playing hours. Obviously a 12-person band will cost more than a stringed quartet. Once you decide on the type of music you want you need to decide how long you require the musicians there is usually a minimum number of hours they will play so decide if you wand to use them for the hour long ceremony and the pre reception cocktails as well. The number of musicians you require also bump up the price so make sure you only have what you need, sometimes musicians in the band can play an instrument also and if the reception area is small or if the acoustics are good you can cut down on some of the musicians in the band, this will lower the cost.
Consider using a DJ instead this would cost about $500 - $600 compared to the band which could set you back between $1000 and $1500 depending on the amount of musicians and how long they will be playing. Don’t be afraid to shop around you can find a cheaper band in your local collage costing half the price of the pro band, be sure to hear them play first, maybe go and see them playing a gig and if you like them why not hire them.

Get Married and Have Fun for the Rest of Your Life
How often do do your married friends complain about husbands who spend weekends on the couch watching games? Did they not notice these guys were sports fanatics while they were dating? Did they think things would change after the wedding?
As one guy told me, "In my experience, husbands and wives don't enjoy the same things." It doesn't have to be that way. My husband of 13 years and I enjoy many of the same things, and we have a blast together.
Life is fraught with ups and downs, so it's critical to marry someone you can have fun with, today and fifty years from now. Here's how you can find that person:
1. Write down a list of the things you like to do. Then do them. I have a theory that if all the singles who claim to enjoy long walks on the beach actually took long walks on the beach, they'd meet, get married, and the personal ad industry would collapse.
If you like to read, hang out in a bookstore. If the bookstore has a cafe, become a regular there. If you like beer and bands, grab a friend and get to know the faces at a neighborhood bar (take a cab; no drinking and driving, please).
Do what you like to do.
This technique worked for a good friend of mine. After discovering that his longtime girlfriend had been cheating on him, he left her. Then he gave himself time to mourn and moved on.
He had two hobbies, cooking and hiking. He enrolled in a cooking class and joined a hiking club, in the hopes of widening his social circle. After the cooking class ended, he invited his classmates to a party at his house and encouraged them to bring friends. Guess who showed up? A fun, attractive (and faithful!) woman who enjoys entertaining and good food as much as he does. They've been married three years now.
2. Write down a list of things you'd like to do but haven't gotten around to yet. Would you like to build a bookcase? Check out the list of classes at your local Home Depot. Want to learn how to fix your transmission? Take an auto repair course. Women are bound to meet men there. If you're bent on improving your money management skills, take a finance course. You'll likely meet smart, upwardly mobile people.
The key to attracting a husband who you can have fun with 10, 25, and 50 years from now is to do the things that make you happy today.
Then see who shows up.

Easy and Inexpensive Hostess Gifts
In days gone by,it was considered impolite to go to someone's house for dinner or a party and not take a small gift for the hostess (or the host!). The gift didn't have to be anything "special" or very expensive, just something that said "Thank you" to your hostess.
It can be very easy, and not at all expensive, to renew that happy custom. And speaking from personal experience, it is so much fun to watch her face when you hand her a little gift!
Keep Gift Items on Hand
It is relatively simple to keep a few things on hand that make nice little gifts. You don't need to spend a fortune either---and here's how you do it:
Buy trial-sized items! You can find hand lotions, small bottles of spray perfume, bars of moisturizing soap, etc. I've even found very small bottles and tubes of bath gel, body lotion, and after-bath spray all in the same scent---these make a perfect hostess gift set!
Look for 2-for, 3-for, and 4-for sales! I watch for sales and coupons, especially BOGO (Buy One, Get One) or sales that offer a one-price-for-several items. Look for anything in the "Health and Beauty" category: nail files, bathtub "puffs," fancy soaps, scented sprays, and lotions. Another idea would be looking for sales of scented candles and other small decorative or universally useful items. Walgreens, Eckerd's, and CVS drug stores are great for their sales and coupons, especially right before and after a holiday.
Shop in "dollar" stores! Bargain stores or "dollar" stores are great places to find things like small wicker baskets, votive candle holders, and really inexpensive wrapping paper, gift bags, and bows and ribbons.
Keep your eyes open! Anytime I'm in a store like Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, or even the local grocery market, I watch for sales of "things"---anything that would make a nice little "something" to wrap up as a gift.
Keep Wrapping Paper and Ribbons on Hand
Think "tissue paper" and "curl ribbon"! I keep plenty of tissue paper, in a variety or colors and patterns, on hand. It is very inexpensive and makes for an easy way to wrap just a tube of lotion or a bottle of scented spray because you can "twist" the ends together and then tie with a ribbon. It is also a good idea to have at least one type of Birthday wrapping paper, as well---for those impromptu Birthday parties, or if you suddenly remember that it's your next-door neighbor's (or your boss's!) birthday.
I have just about every color of curl ribbon on hand, as well (you know, the kind that you can "curl" by pulling it across the flat edge of a scissor blade). Any gift can be made to look very festive, especially if you use several colors of curl ribbon that compliment the color of the tissue paper, or match the color of the gift item! I recently put together a small gift set of lavender scented bath items, all of which were purple-colored, and wrapped in silver tissue paper tied with purple and silver curl ribbon. It was very attractive and no one would have known that it probably cost me less than $5.
Put the gift in a basket or bag! Any gift, no matter how small (even a single votive candle in a 50-cent plain glass votive holder) can look like a million dollars---if you "present" it nicely. I like to put small items in a little wicker basket or a plain-colored gift bag that is stuffed with tissue paper that I've put through a shredder (you can buy really inexpensive paper shredders, I've seen them for less than $10). Remember to color-coordinate the wrapping paper and the gift item!
Be Creative! Think "Fun"!
A hostess gift can be anything, put in anything, wrapped in anything! Think outside the box---or rather think INSIDE the...bucket, shoebox, plastic container, empty oatmeal container, etc. Don't limit yourself---or the gift!
We recently spent a weekend at the beach with friends. For a hostess gift, I bought a small tube of Aloe gel, a tube of Aloe bath gel, and a little pump bottle of "After Tan" body lotion. I went to a "dollar" store and bought a plastic bucket and a shovel (the kind that kids use to play in the sand). I tissue-wrapped the few little times, shredded beige tissue paper to make "sand" to put in the bucket, nestled the wrapped items in the shredded paper, stuck in the shovel, ran several streamers of curl ribbon that matched the color of the bucket through the handle of the bucket---and I had a perfect "Weekend at the Beach" hostess gift! I spent less than $8 and my girlfriend laughed and thoroughly enjoyed digging into her bucket and searching for the little presents in the tissue paper sand!
For a friend who is very culinary-minded, I found a package of different-sized wooden spoons on sale for $1 and added to that a small spice jar of cinnamon and a bag of brown sugar, and I plopped everything in an empty Quaker's Oatmeal container (after emptying and wiping out with a damp paper towel). I printed out a recipe for Oatmeal Raisin Cookies on an index card and punched a hole in one side. After looping several turns of blue and red curl ribbons around the container, I strung the recipe card through one end of ribbon, tied it off, and then curled all the ends of the ribbons. She was delighted with her special hostess gift. Cost? About $6.
If you need a gift for your host, you can apply all these same ideas---just with a man in mind! Surprisingly, men can be appreciative of nail files, clippers, fold-up comb, a lint brush, etc. For a host who is sports-minded, get a tube of BENGAY and wrap it in an ACE bandage!
Remember: It's Not the Gift, It's the Thought That Counts!
Giving a gift that comes from the heart---and not from the wallet---is what your hostess will appreciate the most. Take the time to select individual items, instead of buying pre-packaged "sets." It doesn't have to be anything fancy, it doesn't have to be anything expensive---all you need are a few little items, put them together with a little bit of thought, and you have a delightful hostess gift!

The Verdict Is In The Book Autopsied Existence
The Verdict On The New Novel Autopsied Existence (How a Second Chance in Life Outweighs the First) is in!
The new novel Autopsied Existence (How a Second Chance in Life Outweighs the First) has been coined as a back handed celebration of high morals/values (celibacy until marriage, self-respect, spirituality, respect for thy neighbor) and just downright clean living. When you open the novel you don’t know what to expect. The title exudes mystery. Well, surprise, there is some of that too. The novel is delivered in three parts.
Part One-is full of realistic everyday dysfunction. Dysfunction from the standpoint of male-female relationship, family dynamics ranging from parental overlooks to sibling rivalry, theft, murder and incestuous births. Yes, dysfunctional behavior that often plagues the nightly news. But hang on, it gets better. The characters either get their do or get done.
Part Two-throws the characters into awareness training. The shoe is on the other foot and as uncomfortable as it feels, they must make it through.
Part Three-brings it all together and the end result is restoration of old fashion morals and values. The stuff that makes for a great marriage, family members getting along or at least tolerating each other along with the respectful treatment of people already known and those newly acquainted. The end result wasn’t easy to get to and that is the message of this novel. Living right isn’t easy but the most unholy, uncaring, unspiritual person can accomplish such a goal.
Self-Help-At the back of the novel there are questions with suggestions on how to handle certain situations pertaining to special and everyday relationships. That section deems it self-help.
There’s More-The novel covers a lot of territory. Everyone will be entertained. After traveling through a not so nice tunnel, those with old fashioned morals and values will be delighted and celebrated. Many will remember what society was like before wardrobe malfunctions and over the top sexual behavior. Back when women (the real leaders of society) commanded, demanded and achieved respect. A society tons of people are wishing would return.

Lingerie, Sore Knees, and Male Shoppers
At the top of the list of things that I most don’t like to do, shopping has a hallowed spot. Granted, there are a couple of things that I would hate to do more, but my editors would have six strokes if I entered into dialogues about any of them here. Being respectful of their wishes, and also respectful of the fact that writing a column that no one would print is rather pointless, I’ll move forward and get right to the point. I was forced into a shopping experience for a computer part today, and while doing that l learned a tad more about women, which is always a good thing.
First off, about my computer - a few days ago I spilled something I shouldn’t have on my keyboard, which necessitated the purchase of another one. After I got all of the cussing out of my system, I grimly realized that I was going to have to enter that one true hell for all men, a shopping mall. Honest to God, I’m cringing just writing down those two words. Shopping malls are the bane of all genuine men, and for good reason:
1. Concrete floors covered with just carpet on top of them are not designed for the male knee, especially the middle aged male knee which has already been weakened by football, baseball, and untold years of household chores like working on plumbing problems underneath the sink. If malls were designed for men, they would Astro Turf the floors, but they’re not, so no need to waste any more time wishing for it.
2. As if “1” wasn’t bad enough, ninety-five percent of the stores in most malls cater to women, in fact, they sell uniquely female items - make-up, feminine hygiene related products, and last, but certainly not least, lingerie. We’ll talk more about lingerie in a minute.
With all that having been said, I went to a shopping mall today looking for a replacement keyboard. As I walked and grimaced my way along the rows of stores, I quickly found a computer joint, went in, and bought my keyboard. I had only spent about twenty total minutes inside the mall, so I was feeling pretty darned proud of myself for being so efficient. And then, it happened....
I still can’t explain just exactly why, but I happened to walk up on one of those mall lingerie shops. Y’all know the name, I’m sure, and I just happened to walk right up on it. And, for some reason that I can’t quite explain, I was transfixed. So transfixed that I walked right on in and started looking around.
Guys, let me tell you, they had stuff in there that would make just about any fantasy you’ve ever had about a woman come true. I was goin’ around gawking like a two year old who’d just discovered chocolate, when this lady came up and asked me if I needed help? I figured that I can always use help, so we started talkin’ - our conversation went something like this:
“Mam, I’m sorry to be taking up your time, but this just beats all I’ve ever seen.”
“What can I help you with, sir?”
“I will never understand this, mam.”
“Understand what, sir?”
“Mam, my brain is just going crazy looking around at all this stuff. It’s like a Six Flags Adventure Park for a red blooded male. Does this stuff sell well, mam?”
“Sir, we have a healthy business situation.”
“As well you should, mam. I’ll just never figure this out.”
“Figure out what, sir?”
“Well, with lingerie, it seems like the more you get to see of the woman the more it costs. Take these little lace and postage stamp sized bottoms right here, they cover nothing, yet they cost $125. Worse yet, if you buy them, the whole goal is to get them off the woman as soon as is humanly possible. The whole deal makes no sense at all.”
“Sir, we could talk forever about this, but there are other customers that I need to help. So let me leave you with this to ponder - if buying lingerie for your special lady ultimately gets you what you want, why do you care if it makes sense to you or not?”
With that, she walked away.
Know something? She’s one hundred percent right. Know something else? She wasn’t half bad looking herself, and I’m fighting to not think about how she would’ve looked in that tiger striped ensemble with the gold sequins all over it....

I Need a Wedding Director and a Tux?
Well folks, I never thought I’d be writing a column like this one, because quite frankly I never thought I’d be this old. This week’s subject matter is going to be a bit of a surprise, and I’m already guessing that some of you will be smiling when I tell you what it is, so off we go:
My daughter Alison, my dear, sweet 21 year old Alison, is engaged to be married!
That’s right, my young daughter is engaged to be married. Isn’t that just amazing? Can you imagine someone as youthful as I having a soon-to-be married daughter? I thought not. And, to tell y’all the truth, I’m quite happy about it. The boy Alison’s going to marry, Dave Wallace, is a fine young man. Will and I have both already vetted him out, and he passes every test, heck, it’s almost like he’s a Williams already. He loves to eat Nu-Way hot dogs, appreciates watching the Rocky Balboa movies over and over again, and is just a genuine, all around good guy. I’m lucky to be having him as a future son-in-law, and he will be just that on June 10, 2006. That’s right, Alison and Dave have already set the date for their marriage. And, as happy as I am about that, I’ve gotta admit that there a few things about these pending nuptials that I’m just not understanding, amongst them are:
Why do weddings have to be planned out so far in advance?
I kid y’all not, this wedding is over a year away, and the planning for it has already begun. First off, I’ve been informed that we have to have a director. A director. When I asked specifically what a wedding director is for, I was told, “To direct the wedding, silly.”
Okay, I guess I asked for that. Anyway, maybe I’m missing out on something, but what is there to direct? The preacher stands up in the sanctuary in the middle of the church and waits. The groom walks in through a side door with his best man at his side. The bride is then escorted up the aisle by her father. The preacher asks who gives the woman away? The father says, “Her mother and I do.” Then the father sits down, watches his child get married, and notes that his bank account is dwindling steadily with each passing moment of the ceremony. It all pretty much sounds like something that could be worked out about a half hour or so beforehand between the participants, so why a director? And don’t throw in all that stuff about bridesmaids and flowers, it sounds like we’re trying to barbeque an elephant when all we need is a sack full of Krystals.
Another thing that I don’t understand is why we have to find a place to have the reception and also find someone to cater it? That makes absolutely no sense to me at all. Why not just find a place that’s already set up to make and serve food all at the same time, you know, just kill both birds with one stone? And why do we want to have it at a big place, which will just encourage more people to hang around even longer and consume more food? My idea is much simpler - I’d simply call my good buddy, Spyros Dermatus, the President of Nu-Way Weiners, and ask him if I could rent out one of his restaurants for say, an hour or two. Then, after the marriage ceremony was over everyone who wanted to could stop by for a couple of tasty Nu-Ways. The drive over and the small size of the Nu-Way restaurant would keep the crowd slimmed down, and we could have Dave and Alison stand just past the ketchup and mustard containers in order to thank anyone who stops by. Sounds like a perfect plan for me.
All in all, though, I guess I don’t have it too bad. I have a lovely daughter who’s going to marry a fine young man, and I‘m grateful for that. I fully support what they‘re doing, so I guess I’ll have to take all this ceremony crapola along with it. Nothing worthwhile ever comes easy, I suppose. And wait, I’ve just been notified that I have to wear a tux for this thing - a tux! I’d rather manually remove a tick from an ape’s heiny than have to wear a tux, and that‘s me being really, really low-keyed about it! Folks, I’ve gotta go now, I’m about to do some major cussin’ and question askin’ here, and hopefully I’ll be finished before next week’s column needs to be written...

Hurried Woman Syndrome - 5 Tips To Get The Balance Back
Are you a hurried woman? The Daily Mail on Saturday 30th April reported on the increasing way that women lead a hurried life which is caused by chronic stresses in life. The article was based on some work by a U.S researcher, Dr Brent Bost, and defined the main sufferer’s of the syndrome as "affecting as many as 30 million women each year, the Hurried Woman syndrome can drain your energy, cause you to gain weight, (or have trouble keeping your weight stable) increase your moodiness and frustration…"
It seems that many factors are adding together to make women in the 20-55 age group feel over hurried, rushed and stressed in their lives. You may have a completely different set of life circumstances to your peers, and yet still have the end result – tiredness, trouble with sleep and a lack of motivation amongst other things. How do you put yourself in a position where you can break this cycle, without adding to the ever-increasing amount of time that you have to spend doing a thousand and one tasks each day?
Here are 5 top tips to help you put the hurry behind you and get that much needed perspective back in your life.
1. Understand where you are now. Create self-awareness of what is important to you and your life, to help you see if your hurrying is achieving what you want it to. A great way to do this is to take a blank piece of A4 or larger paper, and draw a circle on it that you divide into 8. Name each part of the circle with an area of your life that is important for you, for instance health, wealth, fitness, family, friends, career, spirituality, relationship/ partner, fun, relaxation – whatever best reflects the different spheres of your life. Think about each area of your life & rate yourself out of 10 with 10 being you completely happy, relaxed & confident in that area of your life, 0 being in that area of your life you feel like you do too much, you aren’t in control & that you are generally dissatisfied. You could also rate 0 here if you do not spend any time in this area as you rush too much in the other area’s to even get round to that part of your life!
2. Visualise how you would like to be. Check back in here with yourself that you have 8 areas’s represented that if you were living a balanced & controlled life that you would want to live in. Think about what you would be thinking, feeling, doing & saying if you were living a balanced life that enabled you to live creatively in each area of your life, without feeling rushed, pressurized and tired from all the stress. What changes do you need to make in your life for those things to be a reality? Which top 5 changes will make a difference & turn you from suffering hurried woman syndrome to a woman in control & balance of her life? What’s stopping you taking them? Commit to at least 1 change that you can start right now – and then get out there and doing it!
3. Manage your energy levels. This is a crucial one – often we feel most pressurized and stressed at the times we can least afford it – I know that I do! Help yourself in this by doing all you can to effectively manage your energy. This can include making sure that you are getting the right food to keep you energized all day, getting regular breaks, sleeping well & understanding your natural pattern & working with it rather than against it.
4. Take some time for yourself to smell the roses in life. As you are getting used to not being a hurried woman, this may be difficult for you, so start small if this helps you here – the importance is getting some regular time in your life to recognize the small, and the large things, that make life important for you. Do you know what these are? It could be a walk around the block, a relaxing bath with someone else looking after the kids, or a night out at salsa dancing!
5. Connect with someone important for you. Sharing your concerns with someone close to you & taking time to connect can help you as you build that relationship of connection with them, & also as they say, a “trouble shared is a trouble halved”! Use the resources that you have close to you to balance out your life effectively, and get the support that you need to make sure that it remains there. Who do you need around you to make that happen?

Why Keeping Promises Are Very Important
David made a promise to Sushma whom he had met a couple times and fancied. He would ring her as soon as he got in from work that day, he said. She waited eagerly for his call because they were just getting to know each other and she was keen to have contact.
But just before he was due to ring her, he got another call and was totally distracted by it. Sushma lost out because he forgot. He texted to apologise and suggested another call for the next day. However, he was busy calling so many other friends he forgot her again. He also reckoned on the 'Treat 'em mean and keep 'em keen' approach. Only Sushma didn't know that!
This time she sent a text to remind him that he hadn't called twice. He said he forgot, apologised again but complained of feeling 'hassled' and made a third promise which he did not keep either because he went out. That last broken promise did it for Sushma. She assumed he was not worth it and stopped waiting. He also didn't call again because he felt guilty.
The Value of Promises
Very few people realise, or wish to accept, that one of the worst experiences in life to an individual is a broken promise. We all have moments when we make a promise to someone and cannot keep it, for a variety of reasons. That is understandable. However, when there is a definite pattern in breaking promises it suggests three things:
That the person to whom the promise is made is not really a priority in the scheme of things; not as valued as others.
That the person making the promise is trying to please too many people at once, perhaps to impress, but failing miserably.
That the promise itself is not perceived as important enough to be kept.
Promises mean a lot to people because they suggest appreciation, value and empathy and carry some pleasure in fulfilment. The effect of broken promises is resentment, undue anxiety, missed opportunities and a lack of trust in future promises for one party, and a chain of guilt and feelings of incapacity and inadequacy for the other. Furthermore, a promise prevents alternative action being taken which means everyone loses out all round.
Broken promises also give a feeling of false competence, they keep the person stuck in a mode of regret and are rarely associated with success. The most successful people tend to value others and keep their word because it demonstrates integrity - a key attribute for achievement. Finally, if not handled sensitively, broken promises can cause ill feeling, damage friendships and even lose business.
For example, if David did not promise to call Sushma on various occasions, she would not wait for him to do it then feel disappointed when he didn't call. Neither would David end up feeling 'hassled' by her. By promising to call, it gave Sushma the perception that she was liked by him, that there was the possibility of a friendship and something pleasurable to anticipate. More importantly, Sushma might have called David instead!
It means they would have both benefited from the contact, it would have lessened their anxieties, especially when David was under pressure, he would not have felt obliged in any way to get in touch when he couldn't and he would have felt much better about himself and his capabilities. The first call would also have sorted out whether they wanted to talk again to any extent, which would have helped both parties to move on more briskly in one way or another.
Sometimes the habits we develop over a lifetime can be very limiting both in their effect on us and on others. Most people don't mind a broken promise but if it becomes a pattern then it becomes part of our personality and is a pointer to how we treat others for our own feeling of power. It really does not suggest enough respect for the person on the receiving end and would also be irritating to them to some measure.
Some Tips on Keeping Promises
First, if you find yourself prone to breaking promises, ask yourself why and try to limit your promises in any one day. It means you will only do it when you feel genuine, you will have more chance of carrying it out, especially if you are not committed to too many people, and it will be appreciated even more. If you have no intention of calling someone, or doing something for them, DON'T promise it. They won't be anxiously waiting and you won't have any guilt. It might boost your fragile ego and esteem to keep people dangling but it only upsets everyone in the end.
The best kind of friendship and approach is doing a job or favour when you FEEL like it, and not if you feel obliged. Nothing should feel forced or pressured. Secondly, have a look at the three reasons above for not keeping your promises and try to remedy whichever one applies to you. If you are breaking your promises repeatedly to one person, chances are you are probably doing the same to others. It not only leaves some unhappy people in its wake but it merely destroys your credibility in the process. We are all very busy people but the main thing to bear in mind is that, with time being very limited, nothing is more important than our interaction with another human being.
Just think that if you promised a dear friend or relative to call them and you didn't do it, and then he/she died the next day, you would never forget that for the rest of your life! So ALWAYS try to keep a promise or don't make one at all.
Desire for Approval
It is our desire for approval why we make promises to too many people and then end up not keeping any which then makes us feel worse and loses us our friends. It was Bill Cosby who said: "I do not know the secret of success, but the secret of failure is trying to please too many people all the time!"
Not only have I never forgotten that, but I live my life by it every day. My aim is not to please too many people at all but to make a real difference to just ONE person for each day which makes me feel great as well. It means not only will that promise carry more meaning and pleasure for both of us, but in any one year I would also have affected the lives of 365 people positively rather than try to please 5 per day and end up pleasing none.
If you value someone's friendship, or truly respect them, or you value your customers, don't make promises you can't keep because it could have an impact on them that even you cannot foresee!

The Handbag
The first sentence of this article….
I have always been fascinated by handbags. They remain to the average man a complete mystery: one whose depth knows no bounds.
Important Notice to Readers:
Before embarking on the body of this non-Seamania-style article I herewith and for the official record state quite categorically that I have no tendencies (potential, inherent or otherwise) towards purchasing a handbag for my own use, that I am not hiding in a closet and that I have never worn, considered or attempted to wear a dress or ladies undergarments, used or otherwise.
The main body of the article
The handbags themselves……..a series of sausages, doughnuts, kitchen sink holdalls and floral arrangements that have at one point or another been deemed fashionable, suited to a certain item of clothing or bought in a rash moment when feeling down. These cupboard space fillers and coat rack adornments are usually made from some ex-animal, of fully-unnatural materials that ooze the latest in plastics or from a variety of down-to-earth feathers, beads or weeds that any self-respecting cockroach or gecko would love to call his home – should the bag remain still for long enough.
Colours and styles are so important in bags, were a dress maybe calming or reserved in style the handbag adornment will counteract this by shouting louder than the town crier. Were office dress gives off serious and in-charge vibes, the shoulder bag or briefcase/handbag will scream hysterically to the world “crocodile skin”!
For the average man, a wild stab in the dark at what a woman might possibly be wearing of an evening, a 40% pass rate would be about normal. But to try and guess (and getting it right) what handbag will be coming out with the dress and heels would be like trying to guess where Osama Bin Laden is having his 2005 summer vacation. It just “ain’t” gonna be right!
The handbag that is joining the evening meal might resemble a suitcase with the world inside or it could well be as garish in colour as to require sunglasses to view? It might come perched on the edge of a slender shoulder, strapped to the cuff or held by a little finger nearly as big as the bag itself. It might well be outrageously expensive with a fashionable name plastered all over it for the unaware or be the latest in cheapness and falling apart at the seams?
Handbag Research…….Last week I was tidying up the house, not something that I do very often but with the wife recuperating after giving birth to our son I felt it necessary to apply myself to something that did not require much thought. I started off in the sitting room, fluffing up cushions and straightening tables - the sort of tidying up that the average man thinks is useful but does not in-fact do anything towards the general improvement in cleanliness of the room (or so I have been told frequently). After ten minutes of hard work I suddenly realised that my “not sure what to do with these items” pile became too hard to ignore as I was tripping over it every time I passed. Upon further inspection of my ‘growth’ and just before I was thinking about having a beer to wet my throat I noticed that it consisted mainly of handbags! Brought together from under cushions, from under coffee tables and out of nooks and crannies and seemingly convenient handbag storage areas that I never knew existed a veritable nations of female holding devices had arisen. From imitation puma skins to latex, from greens to fluorescent oranges I had in front of me a mount Olympus of sandwich look-alikes and animals that might just still be alive.
At this point I was feeling out-of-breath and rather regretting my original initiative! I turned to the beer that I needed then more than ever before. I sat looking at the scaled mountain range in confusion not sure what to do next when suddenly, maybe due to the beers influence I decided to look inside one of these bags to get an answer to my self-made problem. I stood up and went to my pile, sat down and proceeded to look inside the first of the bunch.
Inside the first bag that resembled a fluorescent bull dog: 9 pounds in loose change, lipstick in three different colours, a not-so-clean handkerchief, a diary from 1999 (two years out of date), a seriously bent and twisted motorbike key, a spare battery for a mobile phone, a lone visa card and a hairbrush, another hairbrush and six different hair clips and bally thingies.
Inside of the second bag that looked too large to be used as hand luggage on a plane: 11.50pounds in loose change, another handbag that looked too small to hold anything inside of it, and a spider that was as equally surprised to see me as I was to see it. Oh, and a cobweb!
Inside of the third bag that could have been a sausage roll with a rather extra large helping of mustard and cucumber dressing: 22.00 pounds in notes and loose change, a plastic toy that squeaked when squashed, a vanity set, a sewing kit, 2 lipsticks in varying colours and a bent and twisted scooter key that I’m sure I had already found in the first bag.
This was all too much for me! At this point of the game I decided to open up another can of beer. Apart from the money I could not for the life of me fathom out what to do with the stuff that had now become a second pile next to the first; a mountain range in the making. I had no place to put the bags and no idea as to what I should do with the contents. Should I try to sort them out and find alternative and sensible homes for them?
I had a third beer and a fourth beer. I had a fifth beer and a sixth beer! I went to the bedroom for inspiration but in every corner, under the bed, in closets and in the bathroom I could see bags and more bags whichever way I looked. I went to my study assuming that this one place in the house would be sacrosanct to the handbag menace – and there hanging over the back of my desk chair was a leather shoulder bag that looked as if it was bulging at the seams with content and suggestion, in fact I think it was laughing at me.
I put everything back. I repacked those bags explored (including the money) and I put all the bags back under cushions, back into their homes in corners and under coffee tables and I reduced that pile to zero in the only way that I knew how! I put them all back to the exact places whence they had come.
This was a world a culture that I no longer wanted any part of! I put everything back even to the extent of un-fluffing the cushions and wiped the disaster from my mind.
A woman and her bag……..I always remember my first real insight to the handbag world. As a youngster going to discothèques it was the norm for boys to try and get noticed by the skimpily clad girls dancing around their personal identity: placed in piles in the centre of the floor to be danced around like a group of druids at a communal forest meet. Even then, all those years back whilst being told to “but out” I could see that handbags where a massive part of what made a woman.
Over the years these bags have come to represent more than just a mere receptacle for weird and required items. Current fashions and trends, clothing worn and feelings of the moment play such a large part in the equation as do the security that one can offer. I know from experience that being slapped around the head by a handbag is not at all pleasant, in fact it is downright painful and enough to make the average man depart the scene as quickly as possible.
Handbags are also very useful as pillows should a girl have to sleep rough, for use as an excuse to rummage in during embarrassing moments, as talking pieces over a pint in the pub, to give as birthday presents, to steal, to hide the mother-in-laws home made cookies in to save any embarrassment, as houses for spiders, improve moral, to show boys that they are all grown up and to well ……a whole host of other things.
A week or so later …….. after my handbag sortie, my wife having returned home with our new born son was starting to catch up on the house hold chores! Obviously making some comments about my having not done much during her absence, she started to mutter something about the large basket in the bedroom that she did not know what to do with. She explained patiently that this large basket contained various items that she had removed from the pockets of the “numerous” pairs of trousers, shorts, jackets, and shirts that she had collected from around the bedroom, under chairs, in the new babies cot, on chairs, under the bed and la de da de da!
I suppose I had not done much washing since she had been away but …….well, I suppose a look at this basket wouldn’t do any harm although at the time I could not imagine what it might contain.
Anyway, just for information sake: Some of the items pulled from my pockets and now residing in this basket included: a pen, a wallet, a watch strap with no watch, a sticking plaster, a bent and twisted car key (I don’t currently have a car), quite a lot of loose change, a length of string twisted and knotted irreversibly, a strange looking wad of paper that contained my mother-in-laws attempts at making hot-cross buns in it, a bank statement and a screwdriver.
No spider though!

10 Dishes Every New Bride or Groom Must Know How to Make!
Okay, you've either gotten married or are planning to pretty soon. Congratulations! I'm sure you're aware that this means you will be responsible for at least half the meals you and your loved one will eat from here on out! Not to mention future children, your visiting family members and - of course - inlaws.
A while back, one of my young daughters (who I hope wasn't getting any ideas), asked me which 10 recipes I thought every newly married person should be able to make. After thinking, off and on, about it for a few days, I came up with what I believe are the top ones. Before we get to the recipes, I'd like to just share a few words that would have made life a lot easier on me had someone shared them with me when I first began cooking!
Cooking is an art. It isn't a chore to be endured or a duty to get out of the way. It truly can be one of the most rewarding and satisfying things you'll ever do. Just like most things, anyone who wants to become good at it can. Anyone who wants to become great at it can. There's an ancient Chinese Proverb that says, "The only difference between a good housekeeper and a bad one is an hour a day." I took the liberty to edit the proverb to tell you, "The only difference between a good cook and a bad one is an hour a day." If you make up your mind to become a great cook and dedicate even just one hour a day to honing your skills, you'll earn your apron's stripes!
A few things you should always remember:
Never leave the kitchen when you're baking cookies or biscuits. I wouldn't advise ever wandering away from the kitchen while cooking, but when it's something like cookies or biscuits, doing so is usually disasterous. They're just looking for a reason to burn and take your departure as the open door they need.
When getting cookbooks, go to the used bookstores - or check online auctions or Amazon.com. The cookbooks that were written in the 70s and 80s were some of the best. You'll find ingredients you've actually heard of, for one thing, plus they tend to have more of the basic recipes you'll need for starting out.
Watch Food TV! It is really addictive, and even more informative. I'd suggest you not ever, under any circumstances, miss an episode of Paula Deen's "Paula's Home Cooking", Rachel Ray's "30 Minute Meals" or Alton Brown's "Good Eats". They're the top, in my opinion. After you're more familiar with your way around the pots and pans, you'll be ready for Emeril, but you have to work up to him!
Now, to the top ten recipes you'll need. Either consult some of those cookbooks I told you about, or a website, such as http://www.foodtv.com or http://www.buttermilkpress.com, or ask various family members for their favorite recipes for each. They'll get a real kick out of that. Plus, if you happen to ask an inlaw for their favorite recipes, you'll get off on an especially agreeable note!
Breakfast/Brunch:
1. French Toast and Pancakes. Nothing will impress him or her quite like a tall, warm stack of delicious pancakes with butter melting off the sides.
2. Egg dishes: Scrambled, fried and poached. Note: When cooking eggs, remove them from the skillet before they actually look completely done. They continue cooking even after they're removed to the platter.
3. Buttermilk BIscuits. Buttermilk in a recipe makes everything instantly better. Whether it's biscuits, pancakes or cornbread, it's presence improves the flavor ten-fold.
4. Great coffee. You absolutely must be able to make a sensational pot of coffee. Do your research, try out different beans and always, always grind your own coffee. You can get a grinder for under $20.00, and it will be 20 of the wisest dollars you ever invest.
Lunch:
5. Hamburgers and their cousin, Cheeseburgers. I'll let you in on a family secret, a little garlic salt is the difference between, "Honey, this is good." and "Wow! My mom (dad) never made burgers like this!"
6. At least one really good homemade soup. I know, the little red and white cans are awfully convenient (and you'll find about 10 in my own pantry), but being able to make a sensational potato or vegetable soup is a great big feather in your culinary cap.
Supper/Etc:
7. Fried Chicken. Back to the Buttermilk for a minute, soaking your chicken in buttermilk (in the fridge) for about an hour before coating and frying makes for a juicier, more flavorful meat.
8. Mashed potatoes. Never. Under. Any. Circumstances. Use. Instant. Potatoes. Don't even look their way in the store. Peel, boil, and mash your potatoes with milk, butter and....pssst, another family secret, sour cream. It's worth the effort.
9. Yeast rolls. Okay, I'll admit it, these aren't as easy to make as the other 10 or so foods talked about here. That's because yeast is tempermental. It can be likened to Goldilocks, of all things. It gets angry if the liquid is too hot, it gets angry if the liquid is too cold. It wants it just right, and when the temperature isn't just right, whereas Goldie laid down, your bread will lie down. Flat rolls. Ugly rolls.
10. (3-way tie!) Chocolate Chip Cookies, Apple Pie and Your sweetheart's favorite cake. Master the desserts and even when the main meal isn't up to par it'll be okay. The last thing a person eats, after all, is the thing they'll most recall. You know the saying, all's well that end's well.
Congratulations, good luck, and have fun. It may sound like something out of a 1940s cookbook, but that really is the biggest secret. To most things in life, actually.

How To Clean Gold Jewelry
Gold jewelry to a woman is priceless. Although gold jewelry comes in many different styles and colors, the care and cleaning procedure for all golden treasures remain the same. Good common sense is your best guide, and these important tips on how to clean gold jewelry will help you keep your exquisite pieces lustrous and shining.
Gold is tarnish-resistant, but it can get dirty or smudged. Lotions, powders, soaps, even natural skin oils that we use regularly can cover your jewelry and cut down their brilliance. Jewelry cleaning removes any such build-up or residue and restores the original sparkle and shine to make your precious jewelries last a lifetime.
Although numerous commercial products are available to clean gold jewelry, most often water and a mild detergent is sufficient to restore the radiance, and a soft brush helps to gently clean intricate filigree designs and stones. Sometimes it can be helpful to soak the gold jewelry in a solution of one part ammonia and six parts water for up to sixty seconds. It is imperative to dry and polish your gold jewelry with a chamois or soft cloth after cleaning.
Jewelry polishing cloths are an effective and inexpensive way of keeping your bits of gold glittering and radiant. These essential cotton cloths help to remove tarnish and to buff jewelry to look as good as new. Avoid wearing jewelry while in contact with household chemicals, such as chlorine bleach as this can discolor or damage your gold jewelry mountings.
Proper storage of jewelry when not in use is essential to keep your golden treasures clean and new. When storing your jewelry, be careful that pieces do not tumble against each other to avoid scratching and loss of radiance. Ideally, store your jewelry in a fabric-lined jewel case, or a box with compartments or dividers or store each piece in individual soft cloth pouches.
It is important to check the stone settings of your jewelry periodically for any damage to the gold prongs or bezels. Immersing the jewelry in rubbing alcohol for a few seconds will restore the gorgeous sparkle to cloudy stones. It is very important to dry the jewelry thoroughly after cleaning before wearing or storing. Remember that Pave set (glued in stones) jewelry should never be immersed in water while cleaning gold jewelry.

The Perfect Medical Transcriptionist
As a medical language specialist, we are responsible for the accuracy and professionalism of the patient’s medical report. Is there such a thing as the perfect MT? I say there is, and as an owner of a several successful MT businesses, I can tell you exactly what employers like me are looking for.
When thinking of the perfect MT (medical transcriptionist) several things come to mind. First the MT should have the necessary medical knowledge needed to make sound judgment calls when the dictator misspeaks or gives a wrong word accidentally. A good transcriptionist knows the difference between aphasia and aphagia and when to use which term. In addition, many times the physician will dictate a surgery note on the right foot when, in the last sentence, accidentally says left foot. A good medical transcriptionist has been trained to catch that.
Good medical knowledge starts with a top rate MT school and the learning continues throughout the career of the MT. (That’s why experienced MTs are usually preferred over new graduates, except in certain cases.) The transcriptionist should understand the physiology of the human body and know why body systems work the way they do. They must know the drug names, dosages, and usages for hundreds of medications. They will know when the drug is dictated as 50 mg that it is actually in 15 mg because 50 mg would be an overdose. They must know lab normals so as not to put a ridiculous number when this is what they “hear” the dictator saying. This is all necessary not only for the accuracy of the report, but ultimately for the safety of the patient whose report is being transcribed.
The perfect MT should have an excellent command of the English language. Not only must we know grammar and punctuation, but also our spelling should be exact. As healthcare becomes more and more competitive in today’s world, the professionalism of reports is paramount in the specialist’s mind as he endeavors to impress his colleagues with prompt, professional consultation reports. A report with no punctuation, spelling, or grammatical errors goes a long way in differentiating an excellent MT from an average one.
Now, for the remainder of the qualities of the perfect MT, put yourself in the service owner’s shoes. What other attributes would you, as an owner, need from your people in order to make your business successful? It’s a well-known fact that in addition to top-notch medical anatomy, physiology and terminology training, the perfect MT should have certain characteristics which cannot be learned. This being said, however, these characteristics are vital to the success of the transcription service and the transcriptionist’s career.
The first characteristic which comes to mind is dependability – old fashioned reliability. A good transcriptionist does what he/she says and says what he/she does. It does no good to hire an employee who comes from the best online school with a 4.0 grade average and perfect punctuation and grammar skills, if the employee does not turn her work in on time. Dependability is, in fact, so important that it is the #1 thing that service owners look for in a subcontractor or employee. I cannot tell you the number of times I have had a subcontractor take 2 hours’ worth of dictation, only to find that barely 20 minutes of the work was actually transcribed. This obviously leaves the service owner to scramble to get the work done urgently by another subcontractor (who already has their work for the day) and to have to explain to the client why the work was not turned in on time as promised. (Good communication requirements on the part of the service play a big part in solving these issues.) This affects the reputation of the service and could ultimately cost the service the contract.
In severe cases or in cases of contractual obligation, the client must be given a discount on the work that is late, leaving the service owner with little to no profit for that day’s work and, more than likely, costing them money in the long run since the discount was in excess of the profit the owner would have made for the day. Therefore, a transcriptionist that keeps her word is worth her weight in gold.
Another characteristic equally important is that of attitude, yet another attribute that cannot be learned. How much more pleasant is it to work for someone who is appreciative of you, or even neutral, compared to someone that constantly complains, nitpicks, and whines? While transcriptionists are looking for good employers, good employers are also looking for transcriptionists with these attributes. A good attitude for an MT would consist of not complaining when the doctor dictates an extra few reports for the day (flexibility on the part of the transcriptionist), going the extra mile when the dictator asks for format changes (patience), and keeping the service informed of specific requests the dictator asks for (conscientiousness). A good transcriptionist will stay on an account for an extra few days after notice has been given, rather than leaving the service owner high and dry without someone on the account. A good transcriptionist will take constructive critique in a good manner and leave her ego behind. A good transcriptionist, therefore, works together with the service owner in almost what could be construed as a “partnership,” where each party does his best to help the other achieve their mutual goals. In this case, both the transcriptionist and the service owner work in synchronicity to serve the client, which ultimately serves the patient himself.
Another characteristic that comes to mind in a great transcriptionist is that of willingness to take on more than is necessary. So many times, employees will say something to the effect of “that’s not my job.” A great transcriptionist will gladly jump in and do what is necessary to get the job done. Although not mandatory to do more than promised, service owners know that being able to call on someone who will help them in a pinch makes the MT more valuable than a co-worker who will not.
Of course, good transcription service owners realize that perfect MTs don’t grow on trees. If you do your job well and have the characteristics mentioned above, you should expect top pay in your profession as well as a pleasant work environment. For the at-home transcriptionist, a pleasant work environment, in my opinion, would consist of few, if any, interruptions from the service owner, consistent work from the service (so as to guarantee a paycheck), and protection from cherrypickers (finicky transcriptionists who take the best work and skip over the harder, more difficult work.) I can think of at least a dozen more attributes that the service owner should possess, but that is best explained fully in a separate article.
The bottom line is…in order to become more valuable to your employer (more valuable = better compensation,) begin to think like an owner. If you see an opportunity for improvement, mention it. If you can help out in emergencies, do so. Above all, never forget that a perfect transcriptionist begins with the proper training. Adhering to these recommendations will ensure a transcriptionist that is happy, productive, and is making the income she deserves.

The Question is the Answer
Your world is surrounded by questions. Questions which beg answers. How often do you tune into the questions that permeate your being – the questions that tug at your heart and beckon your soul? History is full of men and women who have entered the hallowed halls of greatness because they have asked the questions that rumbled through their senses and found an answer in their everyday being. They have discovered what we all deeply know - that the Universe conspires with us!
I wonder where I would be today if I hadn't asked these questions:
- How can I heal my shattered being?
- How can I end this marriage and still be a good mom?
- What if I could do a cabaret show in NYC?
- What if I could manage technology for this law firm?
- How can I have an intimate, loving relationship?
- How can I start my own business?
All of these questions have come to pass as moments lived and treasured in my life – experiences that have connected me to the grace and magnificence of living a life at choice. Many times these questions came from moments of pain and despair and equally they have come from moments of wonder and inner urgings.
Problems that remain persistently insolvable should always be suspected as questions asked in the wrong way. Alan Watts
It's equally important to be aware that many times the questions that we belabor and struggle with are indicative of areas where a smoke screen is in place, areas where we may not really want to see the answer to the deeper question. The question ‘Why does this always happen to me?' is a favorite in this category. This kind of question leads you on a wild goose chase of the mind, it is simply an ineffective use of your vital energy. Energy that is more wisely invested in addressing the question that lies beneath the question. For example, “Why is he so disconnected from me?” may beg another question like “In what way am I disconnected?” or “Where am I checking out in this relationship?” Questions that elicit action from YOU are where true power lies.
Live your questions now, and perhaps even without knowing it, you will live along some distant day into your answers . Rainer Maria Rilke
Try this exercise, "Engaging Your Life Purpose with Recurring Questions" :
- Jot down the top three questions that have been surfacing and re-surfacing in your life. These should be questions that have repeatedly come back to you and have been like a beacon - shining the way towards an unknown port. (For example, mine could be "How can I heal my wounded heart?", "How can I make things better?", "How can I connect fully and authentically to others?")
- Think of turning points in your life where these questions have led you to an 'answer'. Take a few moments to do some free flow writing (that means just writing thoughts as they occur to you) on each of these.
- Take a highlighter and pick out the salient insights. Notice any themes or connections and write a sentence describing how the questions have shed light on your life purpose and/or the quality of your life.
The quality and depth of your questions dictates the landscape of your world. It is not a world where you are buffeted around by the winds of chance and are haphazardly flounced upon your face; it is a wondrous playground where dreams come to life as you entertain the questions that are etched in your heart. The questions that inflame your passion can only be brought to life by you. You are the vessel which can pour the essence of your being into the world. There is no other. So, are you living the lackluster, surface questions or are you embracing the questions that lie at the core of your being?
The answer is murmuring in the questions gleaned from your soul. Be still, listen and harken to the liquid gold emblazoned on your heart. The world yearns for your questions to come alive.

Is Your Heart Set On An Antique Engagement Ring?
As Mark Twain said "Let us not be too particular; it is better to have old secondhand diamonds than none at all." And don't we all agree?
Antique engagement rings have become all the rage in recent years, particularly with famous brides like Madonna, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Camilla Parker-Bowles all sporting vintage-inspired engagement rings.
We have the Victorians to thank for introducing the diamond engagement ring as THE ring to wear and many of those early designs are now being copied and updated for today's modern fiancee. But before you rush out and buy that to-die-for antique engagement ring, there are a few things to keep in mind.
Tips when choosing an antique engagement ring
The settings used in the manufacture of modern engagement rings are very different from those used last century. Antique settings often involved fine filigree work and delicate designs that weren't meant for much wear-and-tear. These delicate settings will have become even more delicate over time and there's many a story about the starry-eyed soon-to-be-bride who has been heartbroken when her precious antique engagement ring proved even more precious than she had thought.
If you want a genuine vintage engagement ring make sure you have it assessed by a qualified jeweler so that any damage can be corrected and the settings strengthened. You may even need to have the stone or stones re-mounted.
Diamond cuts have also changed dramatically over the years. Contemporary diamond cutters use modern faceting techniques to show a diamond off at its brilliant best. Although a diamond will sparkle even when its been poorly cut, don't expect the same razzle-dazzle you see today from the diamonds in antique engagement rings.
Also keep in mind that antique engagement rings were often made with stones that don't stand the test of time. Turquoise is a gem to steer clear of because it has a nasty reputation for discoloration. As do pearls, which lose their sheen and opals, which will gradually wear away.
Another thing to be wary of is that lesser-quality garnets were often marketed as rubies in vintage engagement rings, so be sure to have your ring valued if you badly want a ruby-red engagement ring.
An antique engagement ring is not a ring you can wear every day in our rough-and-tumble world, but it's preciousness makes it a treasure that, with the right care, will give you pleasure every day for a lifetime.

Get The Bling Without The Sting - Affordable Engagement Rings
Just because you don't have a lot of money doesn't mean you can't find an affordable engagement ring that looks like it cost a fortune.
Tips on getting more diamond for your dollar when choosing an affordable engagement ring
First, the diamond shape you choose can help make your ring look like it's worth a lot more than you really paid. A marquise-shaped diamond, for example, looks larger than a round diamond. Pear-shaped and oval-shaped diamonds are also good choices for diamond engagement rings because they look larger than their round counterpart.
The setting you choose can also make your engagement ring look very glitzy and expensive. In particular, an Illusion setting. The diamond is mounted on a metal plate similar to a mirror, which makes the diamond appear bigger and more brilliant.
The quality of the diamond you choose is also important if you want an affordable engagement ring. Your personal preference will prevail, but it's possible to sacrifice quality for size. Colored diamonds are a popular choice, so one possibility is to opt for a lower grade color to get more diamond for your dollar.
Where to look for an affordable engagement ring
Why go past the World Wide Web? Crank up the computer and browse online, it's the easiest, most pain-free way to find a great affordable engagement ring that's not going to break the bank.
Of course, who can go past e-Bay for a bargain-priced affordable engagement ring? Another good value online jewelry auction site is Bidz.com. But a word of advice - make sure you do your homework before placing a bid. Get a handle on the various grades of diamonds available and the type of metal you fancy - be it yellow gold, white gold or platinum.
Check out your local pawnshops too, they usually have terrific bargains on affordable engagement rings. And if it makes you feel a bit, well, icky, owning a pawnshop engagement ring, just remember that antique and vintage engagement rings are all the rage - and they have a history too.
Finding a bargain-price affordable engagement ring makes sense. It leaves you plenty of money to spend on other things you may need for your new life together. Like a ride-on mower, perhaps?

Trends in Gift Giving – Jewelry a Timeless Favorite
In times of rapid change, constants lend comfort to our lives. Since ancient times, jewelry has been one of the most popular gifts to give and to receive, and it still ranks among the top gifts as a universal, particularly pearls and birthstones. Jewelry ranks just beneath flowers as the gift that says "I love you," and it ranks just above flowers as a gift to convey that the recipient is someone special. A gift of jewelry delights the recipient and evokes a genuine smile.
It's the Style…
It's not the price; it's the style that determines whether your gift of jewelry is received in the same spirit in which it is given. To give jewelry that delights, match the gift to the recipient's style. Jewelry is one area where you cannot give a gift that you would love to own. Your idea of a fashionable bauble may be another's idea of junk. Is the intended's style casual or more formal, traditional or contemporary? You wouldn't give a Swatch watch to your great-grandmother any more than you would give a diamond tennis bracelet to your Goth niece. Select a compatible style and your gift will stand out among the recipient's favorites and ensure that the gift never finds its way to the regifting closet.
The Many Faces of Pearls
Any woman over the age of 30 appreciates a fine strand of pearls. They're elegant, timeless, and suitable for most occasions. Think back to your favorite old movies; most leading ladies wore pearls at some point during the movie.
Pearls are the only gemstone created within another living organism. Natural pearls are grown without any human intervention when a speck of sand or other irritant lodges itself inside an oyster. Deteriorating environmental conditions have rendered natural pearls all but obsolete.
Cultured pearls have quickly filled the void. The only difference between a natural pearl and a cultured pearl is that human intervention is required to place the irritant inside the oyster shell. By controlling the size and shape of the irritant as well as the environmental factors, cultured pearls guarantee greater quality control. You’ll find pearls in many hues ranging from white South Sea pearls to black Tahitian pearls, and covering a lot of territory in between: pink, green, blue and ivory.
Freshwater pearls sport a combination of interesting shapes and hues not usually found in saltwater varieties. Freshwater pearls come from Chinese rivers and lakes where the Hyriopsis cumingi mussels can produce 50 pearls at once. They are usually less expensive than saltwater pearls, but no less elegant than their saltwater counterpart.
Birthstones
Precious and semi-precious gems linked to birthdays date as far back as the 15th century. Unlike today, early birthstones were linked to the signs of the Zodiac instead of to calendar months. Almost everyone appreciates a birthstone, and it shows that you actually put some thought into the gift. Many people believe that wearing their birthstone protects them and brings them good luck. When giving a birthstone as a gift, think beyond rings to bracelets, pendants, earrings, pins and chokers.
The chart below contains the official modern birthstones, as established in 1912 by the National Association of Jewelers. Some birthstones have many legends associated with them; you'll find a brief summary below. This official list applies only to the United States. Several other birthstone lists exist, such as the mystical birthstones, which originated in Tibet and the Ayurvedic birthstones, which originated in India.
Month - Birthstone
January - Garnet
-Associated with blood, garnet provides victory, protection from injury and health and brings constancy
February - Amethyst
-Said to have been worn by St. Valentine, amethyst signifies spirituality and sincerity
March - Aquamarine
-The stone of serenity and courage, also associated with water
April - Diamond
-Banishes evil, promotes goodness, improves financial situations - the world's favorite precious gem also signifies pure and eternal love, innocence
May - Emerald
-Brings harmony, the stone of life and renewal, love and success
June - Pearl
-Purity, chastity and modesty, health and longevity
July - Ruby
-Devotion, integrity and success - contentment
August - Peridot
-Dignity, success and fame – married happiness
September - Sapphire
-Clears the mind and brings prosperity and clear thinking
October - Opal
-Happiness, beauty, love, magic - hope
November - Topaz
-Brings wisdom and strength of mind, fidelity
December - Turquoise
-Good fortune and prosperity
Enclose a card with the gift explaining the meaning of the birthstone. While most people know their birthstone, few know the significance attached to it.
If you want to give jewelry as a gift, but you’re at a loss for what to give, pearls and birthstones provide two safe options that are sure to please and make a lasting impression.

Grooming for the Groom
The big day is not all about the bride; the groom is also in the limelight and would like to look his best too. With the increase of men’s beauty products like Clarins, Lancôme, Nivea, Decleor, suggesting that men are paying more attention to their image then ever before. So the following are tips for keeping your husband to be in tiptop condition for those wedding photos.
Skincare
Men have been experimenting with our exfolients and moisturizer for as long as we can remember, this is better than using nothing at all but men need men-specific products for their skin. Their skin is a lot drier and oilier due to higher sebum levels and high moisture evaporation rates. Men’s skin is also thicker than women’s, has a more acidic ph, and has more defined eye contours not to mention fragile due to shaving. In other words our skincare products just wont do the job. The first step is to use an oil for shaving Decleors Aromessence Homme and L’Occitane Cade Travel Shaving Oil are two good examples. Applied to the skin before shaving will lubricate and soften the hair making for a more comfortable and closer shave, applying a few drops afterwards to sooth and calm the skin preventing in growing hairs.
Use an exfoliater once or twice a week to further prevent in growing hairs and brighten the complexion. Nivea makes a deep cleansing facial scrub for men that is quite effective; there are plenty of brands to choose from for both oily and sensitive skin. This is always to be followed by a moisturizer or the skin will quickly dry out. Find out what skin type he is (dry, oily, sensitive) and buy the appropriate moisturizer. Another good tip is to get “girlie free” body creams like E45 or Lubriderm for dry skin areas or all over the body, if it isn’t scented he will be more inclined to use it.
Treatments
A good idea is to go for a facial a few months before the wedding to pamper your skin. A facial will make a huge difference to your skin leaving the face thoroughly cleansed and fresh. If you can’t convince him to do this maybe a half hour facial will be more appealing letting the beautician know he’s a bit nervous before hand so she can put him at ease. The Decleor Aromaplasty Facial is a great treat for the bride or groom, it starts with ten-minute diagnostic back massage, then the facial nourishes and revitalizes the skin aiding in the absorption of moisture and nutrients. There are also deep cleansing treatments for the body, if the groom has an acne prone area maybe the back or chest; this treatment can be a good idea. If the groom does not want to go to a Spa or Beautician by himself why not go together you could even make a romantic weekend out of it by staying overnight.
Hair
It is not a good idea to go for a drastic change in the months leading up to the wedding. However it is a good idea to get the hair cut one or two weeks before the wedding letting the hair settle and avoiding a too tight cut. If he is brave enough to try a back or chest wax preparing for the honeymoon this is the best time to try as a wax will last up to ten weeks. Waxing should always be done at the salon preventing any horror stories.
Hands and feet
Hand care just does not sound very masculine or appealing to men, so it’s likely that his hands are not in the best shape possible to say the least. Given that his hands will be on display during the wedding it is a good idea for him to start a daily hand care ritual to keep his skin and nails in top condition for showing off the wedding band. Using a rich moisture hand lotion every day and NOT chewing his nails is a start, a really good idea is for him to get a manicure but if he protests maybe you could take out your nail file and give him a helping hand. I an assuming that that yours and not his feet will be on display but this does not mean foot care for him is out the window. His concerns might differ from yours slightly, with more emphasis on odour prevention. Scrubbing feet daily with some tea tree oil or mint foot scrub and drying them completely should help. Also inserting odor control insoles into his shoes to absorb wetness and odor can also be beneficial. Some good products to keep in mind are California North Barbay coast hand and foot scrub and the Scholl range of products are still going strong.
Fitness
There is no better time to join the gym than when you book your big day, it will provide all the motivation you need, going to the gym three times a week and eating a healthy balanced diet should tone your body and keep the weight off. Why don’t both of you join together you can motivate each other to get off the couch and spend some quality time together. If the gym is not your scene then some daily brisk walking is good to clear the head and keep in shape. Do not forget to drink plenty of water and limit you intake of alcohol to keep your body healthy and in good shape.
Smile
This will be the most noticeable feature in all the photos so make sure your smile is up to scratch. Go for regular check ups and get your teeth cleaned and polished coming up to the big day. Brush your teeth twice daily using gentle whitening toothpaste and don’t forget to floss. If you need extra help than why not purchase a whitening kit you’re your local pharmacy and see the difference after a few weeks. If you really want to splash out you can opt for a procedure called “britesmile” which uses a laser treatment to whiten teeth 5 to 6 shades brighter. This procedure will cost between $600 to $700 and is available from some dentists.

Creative Wedding Cards
You invitation is a reflection on the type of wedding its going to be weather it be formal, informal or themed this will be transparent in the invitation. The invitation is the only essential stationary required everything else is optional.
Save the date
This card is sent several months in advance to guests that have a long distance to travel, it is simple courtesy to let them know your plans so they can start making their own. These cards only need the Bride and Grooms names and the date and location of the wedding. It’s a good idea to include “Invitation to follow” so they don’t keep calling for the details that are not available yet like reception location and time.
The Invitation
As before these will reflect the type of wedding to come so chose the style accordingly. Most people spend between 1-2% of the budget on the stationary. When ordering your stationary remember to include 10 extra to provide for mistakes and late invites. This will be cheaper than having to reorder a new batch. It a good idea to let another person check the invites before they go out to make sure all is in order and spelled correctly. The invitation will include the names of the hosts; the brides name the grooms name, the ceremony location, date and time, the reception location and the RSVP address. If children are being invited include on the invitation if not leave out.
Reply Card
The reply card is an optional but efficient way of getting the guest list finalized. You can also include a menu option so that guest with dietary needs can be catered for. Don’t for get the stamp so that guest can reply promptly.
Wedding Service Programme
Similar to mass booklets but contain more information. They may include the whole wording of the ceremony, which will provide for a lovely memento of the day especially if the couple has written their own vows. This also offers the scope to mention deceased loved ones or to give a little background on the wedding party or to explain any unfamiliar rites. You can even go further by including poems, photos etc.
Place Cards
These are traditionally small cards engraved with guests name and each seating place. Now more couples are finding creative ways to replace these. One option is to carve the names into small pebbles or stones and offer to guests as a memento you imagination is the limit with this so don’t be afraid to let it run riot.
Thank you cards
These are absolutely essential to thank each guest for his or her attendants and gifts you received. You can opt to match these to the invitation cards or pick up a pack of pre-printed cards from your local card shop. Take time to write a hand written note to each on the card to each guest as it is only courtesy and will be remembered.
Special Touches
Besides the choices of text, type, paper and design there are lots of ways to personalize and add that special touch to your cards. Trimmings can range from feathers to pearls, shells flowers or ribbons each design can be unique. Another option can be the original watercolor of the church where the ceremony is taking place or the coat of arms of the bride and grooms family branded on the invitation. Photogenic designs and laser cut monograms of the couple’s initials on the front of the card is a hot new trend.
Information packs
In addition to the invitation itself you can include directions to the church and reception, local tourist attractions for distant relatives and even details of the wedding list. Such details will be appreciated by the out of town wedding guests who will be unfamiliar with the place your getting married and be interested in favorite bars, restaurants and tourist attractions if any.
DIY Stationary
One way to save money and add that personal touch to the stationary is to make your own. This is more popular than ever and there is an abundant choice of card paper and trinkets to choose from including high quality hand made and floral paper. You can add organza ribbon, feathers, shells the options are limitless all you will need is a printer to add the script or why not try your hand at some DIY calligraphy to add a definite personalized touch. Although this method of creating your own stationary takes time it can be highly rewarding.

Finding Your Wedding Photographer: How to Avoid Three Common Mistakes
As a recruiting manager for a photography agency that specializes in weddings, I spend most of my day searching for great photographers. I feel a special bond with the thousands of brides-to-be who start their own search every year. I don’t mean to brag, but its tough work. For this reason, I want to share my own experience and ideas on how to avoid the three most common mistakes people make when looking for a wedding photographer. Don’t be ashamed if you’ve already made one… or all of the mistakes I’m going to discuss. That’s the reason they’re COMMON mistakes. Lots of people make them. Whether you’re just getting started, or starting to give up, we hope these tips will help ease the pain.
Tip #1: Know what you’re looking for before you start the process.
Now, you might be asking; “how do I know what I’m looking for, if I don’t do a little window shopping?” I agree completely. I encourage window-shopping, but in this case, that window should be your computer screen, a friend’s wedding album, magazines… anything that you can use to get an initial sense of the visual style that appeals to you. Look at the tone of the images you like. How emotional are they? How intimate? How visually creative? Use this to define what you’re looking for in a photographer.
Look through photos in the comfort of your home, and focus in on the style that really moves you. You may find a few different styles of photography that appeal to you. Try to limit your search to no more than 2 or 3 styles, to avoid image overload. You’ll never find one photographer who is an expert at EVERY style, so prioritize your favorites. Pick one style you care most about, say photojournalistic, or editorial or traditional and look for photographers who can specialize in that style, while maybe having some experience shooting your second and third choices. Armed with this information about YOUR preferences upfront, you will avoid this common mistake and save yourself a lot of headaches.
The process that you shouldn’t jump into right away is making phonecalls, sending emails and setting up in-person meetings with photographers. The time for that will come very quickly, but, believe it or not, starting that too early can do more harm than good. Think about it this way: meeting with a photographer will take you between 2 and 3 hours, including emails, phone calls, traveling to and from the studio, and the meeting itself. If you do this five times, without having a clear idea of what you want, not only will you be susceptible to being sold into a package that may not be right for you, you will find yourself exhausted and probably more confused at the end of 15 wasted hours.
Tip #2: Don’t take friends’ referrals blindly.
Again, this may sound crazy. Referrals from friends are great at telling you about a photographer’s professionalism, their communication style, and how they follow up on issues that come up before, during or after the shoot. That kind of information can take a lot of the pressure off of the interview process. What a referral cannot do is guarantee that the photographer’s visual style or approach is exactly what you are looking for. That is the kind of information you will get from READING the photographer’s portfolio and looking out for the kinds of images you want to see in your own wedding album.
A quick side note here: photographers are no more and no less honest than you or I. They aren’t out to lie to you, but they may be eager to get you as a client. As such, the questions you ask them about their style and approach should be much less important to you than what you actually SEE in their portfolios. And there is no right answer here. Only you know what images will appeal to you. You SHOULD know what you’re looking for… if you followed my advice from tip 1.
Friends are a great way to get help in your search for a photographer, but be sure to use your own eyes to make the final decision. Cousin Mabel may be sweet and smart and charming, and have some great advice for you, but if you don’t share her exact taste in clothing, furniture, or food, you may not share the same taste in photography.
Tip #3: Don’t meet with too many photographers.
You probably didn’t expect a science lesson but unfortunately you’re gonna get one. Studies have found that the typical human brain cannot hold more than 7 pieces of information at one time. So if you’re, say, walking to work AND chewing gum at the same time, you can’t possibly be comparing 10 photographers on top of that. In fact, try it, and you’ll be lucky not to end up walking into traffic.
Speaking seriously, the one word I hear from brides most often is “overwhelmed”. You all know there is a lot of planning to be done, and far too little time, no matter how much you’ve set aside. Some people try to rise to the challenge by OVERbooking themselves. They have to quit their jobs and hire personal assistants just to schedule all the vendor interviews.
What I do for a living is interview dozens of photographers throughout the year. I haven’t gone crazy yet, but remember, it IS my fulltime job. Your fulltime job is something else, and you really do have a limited amount of time and brain power to devote to this.
Limit your meetings to a very short list of photographers whose work has wowed you online, or in a brochure. Also, keep the meetings brief. They’re not job interviews or lie detector tests. Most of what you need to know about a photographer will be found in their photos. How they deal with people can be seen in the level of comfort you see on people’s faces in the portfolio. How hands-on they are will be seen in the amount of posing you see in their work. How intimate they get with the subjects can be seen in the closeness and emotion of the photos. Their technical ability and visual creativity will make itself known right through the quality and artistic style of the images you see. Use the interview just to get a sense of personality, and rapport. Can you connect with this person? How do they deal with questions and follow-up? Make sure you express your thoughts to the photographer, and take note of how he or she responds to your ideas and suggestions.
Finding a great photographer doesn’t have to be the most serious task of your life. There are agencies like my own that help brides manage the work it takes to find the right person, but with a little patience and an adventurous spirit, you can do some of the work on your own. Know yourself, don’t overdo it, and have fun.

Guess Who Else Has a Problem With Confidence?
When I tell you what I heard you’ll be able to laugh at what you believe is your own lack of confidence.
I couldn’t believe it. Sunday, in a queue, in my local food-store an Olympic athlete stood behind me, chatting to another Olympic athlete. I looked at the contents of my shopping cart and wondered, which item I could get them to autograph! That is until I overheard them talking…
You see, I thought only you and me suffered from confidence problems. I thought we were the only ones who’d looked at a guy and thought he’d never feel attracted to a women like us. I thought we were the only ones who felt unworthy of going for the better job. I thought we were the only ones who over ate. I thought we were the only ones who talked ourselves down and felt like we don’t deserve anything nice. But what I discovered is that we’re not.
Standing in that queue on Sunday taught me that an Olympic athlete has the gold medal of lowest confidence, and, to be honest she can have it!
And then on Monday I get an email from a friend who has moved into the boardroom – a top level job, for which she’s been given all the perks. When I asked her how it was going she said, “I feel like a fifteen year-old in an adult’s playground. They’ll find me out any minute. They’ll see I’m no good.” Then I heard this…
An Oscar-winning felt ‘Not good enough,’ when she won her awards!
When I stopped to think about it, I had to laugh. If an Olympic athlete, a executive one step away from a CEO and a top actress can all lack in confidence then why not me and you?
Using those three women as the yardstick I have no reason to lack confidence. When I look at my life I really do have a successful business, great friends and wonderful family etc. I didn’t need to be brimming with confidence to gain any of that. What I needed was something else…
I have inspired moments where everything I know comes together. I act in those moments – sometimes in good humour and in disbelief – and what comes to me is a new client, a new friendship and a great relationship. But how is this achieved.
Forget the big picture. Forget the Olympic team, the top job and the Oscar winning actress. Don’t aim too high. Going places is about taking small steps, take those tiny steps and like a baby leaning to walk before it runs you’ll gain enough confidence to change your life. One more thing…
Know you are not alone. The people I mentioned above are just a sample. Recently I emailed my database to see how many people I could help grow in confidence. Fifteen percent of them believed I could help!

How To Catch His Eye
Yes, we all have experienced those nights when we walk into a party, club or bar and feel very insignificant. There’s always that one girl who stands out in the crowd. We all know her. We envy her. We all want to be her. She’s the one who has guys lining up to buy her a drink and never has to stand alone.
We all want to be this woman but how? It’s simple. We’ve already heard the cliché term “beauty comes from within” but the beauty within won’t get you that hot guy to notice you.
So now, we are faced with a challenge. What attracts guys? Why do almost all guys drool over Angelina Jolie, but just think that Jennifer Garnier is “cute?” We’ve all seen Carmen Electra, Pamela Anderson and Denise Richards and wonder what is it about these women?? It’s simple. All you need is that one dress that’s short but not too short. That reveals a little but leaves the rest to the imagination. Remember that the following information is steered toward getting that man that you’ve been eyeing. This information should not be used daily.
The rule to finding a hot mini dress is that you should focus on one and ONLY one part of your body to show off. It is important that if you are showing off those sexy long legs of yours with a short flowing skirt or a tight hip hugging skirt, you SHOULD NOT wear a low cut shirt on top.
The next important rule is color. Research has shown that the color red is what catches a man’s attention. Researchers say that this is due to the fact that subconsciously men connect this color to sex. If you find red too bold to wear, steer toward less bold colors. It is important to stay away from pastels, as they steer toward the “cute” look.
This advice should be followed when going out at night. Walk out during the day to the supermarket or to work in a short mini dress and you might get tons of stares but this type of attention is not the type that attracts men. This is one of the most important lessons that readers could ever learn. Beautiful women are beautiful because they know that different occasions require different looks. Master this, and you will soon be the woman in the bar that all other women want to be and all men want to talk to.
